League of Legends 14.1 Patch Notes Overview

Table of Contents

The 14.1 patch for League of Legends is packed full of exciting new changes, shaking up gameplay and introducing fresh dynamics to keep players on their toes. This patch delivers a slew of modifications, ranging from Ranked Season updates to significant terrain changes, new monster additions, and a major overhaul of items. Here is a comprehensive overview of these changes.

Ranked Season 2024

The first significant update in the 14.1 patch is the kickoff of the 2024 Ranked Season's first split on January 10th. Players who participated in the 2023 Split 2 season can expect their Victorious Tryndamere reward soon, with the remaining rewards set to be delivered in patch 14.2.

Void Gameplay Changes

The Baron Pit will now play host to new creatures: Voidgrubs and Voidmites. The Voidgrubs spawn at the 5-minute mark and respawn once per game. Killing these creatures grants players the Hunger of the Void Buff and triggers the spawn of Voidmites.

The Rift Herald has also undergone a revamp, now boasting new abilities and mechanics. Furthermore, the Blue Sentinel and Red Brambleback transform into Voidborn forms after Baron Nashor spawns, with Draconic Sentinel and Brambleback appearing after Elemental Rift is locked in. Slaying the Voidborn Scuttler now reveals all champions and wards within a large area.

Baron Nashor

Baron Nashor has received a visual update, now appearing in three different forms: All-Seeing Baron, Hunting Baron, and Territorial Baron. Each form possesses a unique ability, including lightning strikes, summoning rifts, and grabbing enemies.

Terrain Changes

The terrain changes in this patch aim to balance lanes across both sides of the map. Top lane changes aim to reduce outside influence and delay the Rift Herald spawn, leading to more strategic gameplay. Mid lane changes strive to provide a safer environment for immobile mages and open up safer roam paths. The bot lane has been tweaked to include a new gank pathway and contestable areas, adding an extra layer of strategy and unpredictability.

Item Changes

The 14.1 patch has seen a significant overhaul of items, particularly those for mages, fighters, and tanks.

Mage Items

The Mythic items have been removed and replaced with new items such as Riftmaker, Malignance, Luden's Companion, Stormsurge, Hextech Rocketbelt, Haunting Guise, Liandry's Torment, Horizon Focus, Seeker's Armguard, Cryptbloom, Shadowflame, Amplifying Tome, Blasting Wand, and Needlessly Large Rod.

Fighter and Diver Items

For fighters and divers, the Mythic items have been swapped out for new ones like Hullbreaker, Blade of the Ruined King, Phage, Eclipse, Spear of Shojin, Ravenous Hydra, Titanic Hydra, Tiamat, Hearthbound Axe, Stridebreaker, Experimental Hexplate, Sundered Sky, and Tunneler.

Tank and Support Tank Items

Tanks and Support Tanks will find their Mythic items replaced with new items such as Hollow Radiance, Unending Despair, Kaenic Rookern, Heartsteel, Trailblazer, Zeke's Convergence, Locket of the Iron Solari, and Warmog's Armor.

The League of Legends 14.1 patch brings a host of changes that will significantly impact gameplay. The introduction of new creatures in the Baron Pit and the transformation of Blue Sentinel and Red Brambleback will require players to adapt their strategies. The terrain changes aim to balance the game further and offer new tactical opportunities. Lastly, the removal of Mythic items and the introduction of new items will provide players with fresh build opportunities and challenge them to find new optimal combinations. So gear up, summoners, and embrace the changes coming your way!
